While goaltender Cal Petersen struggled this season for the Flyers, it looks like the team will not be buying out his contract this summer.
This means that the Flyers will have a $1 million cap hit next season and a $2 million cap hit during the 2025-26 season.
This would result in a $1M cap hit in 2024-25 for Philly, and a $2M cap hit in 2025-26, per our friends at @CapFriendly if the Flyers go that route.
This is a questionable decision since Petersen finished the season in the AHL and will be on a way contract next season even though he will likely be their 4th or 5th option.
