That's an interesting development in the Claude Giroux saga.

According to Adrian Dater, from Colorado Hockey News, Giroux told GM Chuck Fletcher that he wanted to be traded to the Colorado Avalanche.

If somehow the Flyers and the Avalanche can't agree on a deal, Minnesota or St. Louis would be "acceptable alternatives".

At this point, Claude Giroux just knows that he's going to be traded by the deadline. The big issue there is that this information could weaken the Flyers negotiating position with the Avalanche.

With a cap hit of 8.2M$, it's also going to be a big challenge for the Avalanche in order to accept the contract. They have 1.6M$ of free cap space. So Fletcher will have to accept a roster player and retain salary in order to make it work. And don't forget that the Avs don't have a first round draft pick this year...

The question is : will Giroux be a good fit in Denver ?
