They were facing an uphill battle during that game as London was down 6-2 to the Oshawa Generals. Bonk had a four point night and turned the game with Barkey's help as the Knights won the game 7-6.
Barkey, who was drafted in the 2023 NHL draft, in the third round, 95th overall has been deemed an elite passer according to eliteprospects.com. He has a great hockey IQ and forced the opposition to draw towards him while he passes to the open man.
Through 17 playoff games, the 19 year old has scored 5 goals with 19 assists for 24 points while being a plus 10.
Bonk, who is the son of former Ottawa Senator Radek Bonk, was drafted in the first round of 2023, 22nd overall. The 19-year-old defenseman has been labelled as an elite shutdown defenseman who controls the blueline and has a great shot. During 17 games like Barkey, he has scored 7 goals with 9 assists for 16 points.
Both players are looking forward to September as the Flyers will prepare for another training camp, and if this season is showing they may be ready to take the next leap.
