44-Year Old KHL Star Suddenly Passes Away at a Very Young Age

Tragic news hit the hockey world as veteran forward passed away at 44 years old.

Dmitri Tarasov had an illustrious career, spending 17 seasons in the Russian Super League and KHL, most notably with Amur Khabarovsk.
As team captain for five years, he contributed 225 points in 644 regular season games and secured a Russian Super League championship in 2008. The circumstances of his passing remain undisclosed.
"Yesterday in Khabarovsk, a pupil of the Khabarovsk 'Amur', the club's leader in the national championships in terms of the number of matches played and the champion of Russia in the 'Salavat Yulaev' Dmitry Tarasov, suddenly died.

The team of the hockey club "Amur" and Khabarovsk fans express their sincere deepest condolences to Dmitry's family and friends.

We will always remember." Amur Khabarovsk said in a statement.
