Alex Galchenyuk's troubles seem to be multiplying as he faces a new legal battle.
Just days after his release from the Arizona Coyotes following a hit and run incident, the 29-year-old player is reportedly being sued by the Royal Bank of Canada for nearly $400,000.
Court documents reveal that back in June 2014, when he was with the Montreal Canadiens, Galchenyuk took out a loan worth $299,466.88 in US dollars.
The Bank claims he is in default and demands full repayment of the loan with an annual interest rate of 9.2%.
This adds to Galchenyuk's already challenging situation, as he is currently in the NHL and NHLPA's player assistance program following his recent arrest.
