As of late, there have been rumblings that there is frustration with Provy's play, and according to Elliott Friedman, he may be a defenseman to be talked about or added to the trade list as the March 3rd deadline approaches.
As Flyers nation is aware, the team is going through a transition with their players and trying to find their identity. Their cap situation and contract situation are a mess along with the construction of the roster. Provorov would be a hot commodity on the trade market, and would certainly help other teams in their playoff push and for a run at the Stanley Cup.
Provorov carries a $6.75 million cap hit and is signed till 2024-2025. In my opinion, if the Flyers are in a true rebuild as it has been mentioned, moving him would need to fetch a package of a roster player, a high draft choice, and a prospect. At 25 years old it's hard to part with a defenseman who is still developing and could be even better as he ages.
The Flyers will certainly be one of the busiest teams in the offseason with much work to be done.
