The Flyers organization have gone through some major structural changes over the past number of weeks. When the organization removed former general manager and president of hockey OPS Chuck Fletcher, they decided to go with an interim general manager with Danny Briere for the time being.

The team also decided to separate the jobs. They would bring in a new President of Hockey OPS that would work independently. That news is about to come ahead as of tomorrow morning.
According to Elliotte Friedman of the 32 Thoughts Podcast and Sportsnet insider, the Flyers will make their announcement that they have hired former Flyers player Keith Jones as their new president of hockey operations and they will grant Briere the full rights as general manager of the hockey team.
Hiring Jones is typically higher for the Flyers as he is a team alumnus and will stick to what the Flyers will want in terms of the culture. It remains to be seen if he will have full autonomy on the team and make all the final decisions or if will that fall onto Briere's portfolio.
Other candidates such as Eddie Olczyk, Ray Shero and Doug Wilson were few that were named as potential successors of Chuck Fletcher as president.
