Philadelphia Flyers' Travis Konecny has returned to the ice for a morning skate in a non-contact jersey. Konecny had been sidelined with an upper-body injury, but his return to practice is a positive sign for his potential return to the Flyers' lineup in the near future.
But not anytime soon? John Tortorella admitted this morning that Konecny may not be back for the entire year, and if so: 'is it even worth it?'
Meanwhile, Sean Couturier, who underwent back surgery, also participated in the morning skate but was wearing a standard contact jersey. This suggests that he is further along in his recovery and closer to returning to full contact play. Cam Atkinson? Likely not this year as well....
Must read on FlyersInsider
"Cam, hoping to see skating before the end of the year, he's doing everything off-ice, but not sure about on ice."
-Torts on Atkinson
The Flyers will undoubtedly be pleased to have both Konecny and Couturier back in action, as they are key players on the team. However, it remains to be seen when they will be fully cleared to return to play in games. Until then, the team will continue to rely on their depth and resilience to weather any challenges they may face.
