A prominent hedge-funder and a minority owner of the Arizona Coyotes spent Thursday night in Pitkin County Jail after police arrested him at a downtown hotel on a felony strangulation charge.
Andrew Barroway, 57, of Scottsdale, Arizona, posted a $2,500 personal recognizance bond on Friday following a virtual hearing in front of 9th Judicial District Chief Judge John Neiley.
Barroway, wearing orange Pitkin County Jail clothes, appeared virtually from Aspen; Neiley was in Garfield County District Court.
Aspen police arrested Barroway at approximately 9:35 a.m. at the Limelight Aspen on Monarch Street, according to police records. He is under a court order that prohibits from having any contact with his wife, except when it involves their children. Barroway also cannot consume alcohol, per the court order.
Barroway also faces a misdemeanor third-degree assault charge.
