The Vancouver Canucks were anticipated to have a fantastic season, but when opening night arrived, many supporters were ashamed of how poorly their club fared in relation to predictions.
Two of the team's finest players, J.T. Miller and Bo Horvat, have been the focus of a significant amount of controversy. Insiders claim that the Canucks ownership does not treat players fairly and routinely "low balls" them to get them to sign new contracts at a discount.
On Hockey Fights Cancer night, they also healthy scratched forward Brock Boeser in addition to Horvat and J.T. Miller's issues. That game held a special significance for Boeser since he was on a point streak and had recently lost his father to cancer. After the game, Boeser then requested a trade.
According to an insider, the Canucks' issues start when players start to perform above expectations and demand a bigger deal. Up until that moment, the Canucks seem to be paying players okay.

According to NHL source Rick Dhaliwal of the Canucks, the organization made Horvat an insulting offer, the forward decided to reject it, and now the management is seeking for the best deal to let him go.
It is believed that the offer came in at less than $8M AAV/$64M total.
Horvat, 27, has 20 goals & 29 points through 28 games played this season.
Per Frank Seravalli, there is at least one team in the NHL that is willing to give him $9M AAV in free agency.
