On Saturday night the Philadelphia Flyers made a surprising signing that not a lot of people expected, it kind of came out of no where. Throwing everyone off.

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed 21-year-old goaltender Aleksei Kolosov to a three-year entry-level contract, with a $925,000 cap hit.
It was anticipated that the young goaltender would be re-signing in the KHL and staying with the Dinamo Minsk. Aleksei Kolosov even stated that he would not be heading overseas, «I'm not going to go overseas yet, I'll play in the KHL for at least another season.»

Now it appears he will indeed be heading over to the USA and most likely playing the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, or who knows may be Danny Briere and John Tortorella have other plans.
This signing is partially due to the fact that the Flyers lost out on their other goaltending prospect Ivan Fedotov who is also in the KHL, he took the ladder option and decided to resign in the KHL. Leaving GM Danny Briere the ability to sign the much younger goaltender who was unsigned already.
In 42 games last season with the Dinamo Minsk, Kolosov honed a .912 SV%, 2.55 GAA.
The Flyers have a good prospect pool of netminders and it will be interesting to see what Danny Briere does. Felix Sandstrom may be on the way out but that is just speculation.
