It's been a rough season for Ottawa Senators Josh Norris. The 23 year-old has missed most of this season battling a naggering shoulder injury from a game back on October 22nd vs the Arizona Coyotes.
That injury kept Norris out of the lineup until his return on January 18th. Despite the Senators General Manager Pierre Dorion stating Norris was "back to 100%" that might not of been fully the truth.
As after playing just 3 games since he's returned, the Ottawa Senators would announce this morning that Norris will have to have a season ending surgery to repair the shoulder.
Norris could of been suffering with this for awhile, Norris missed 15 games last season with shoulder injury also.
"There were some tough days, obviously," Norris said, per NHL.com. "It's a long recovery. Some days you feel good and some days you don't. You have a good week and then you have not so great of a week. I think I was just trying to stay even-keeled and stay with it mentally. It was a long recovery. I had some really good teammates checking in on me and stuff, so I'm grateful for that." - Josh Norris
Norris's season ends having appeared in just eight games, scoring two goals and adding one assist. The Senators have to be a bit worried as Norris just signed an eight-year, $63.6 million contract last summer on the heels of an impressive 35-goal campaign.
