With Timo Meier finally being traded to the New Jersey Devils, Flyers veteran forward James van Riemsdyk now becomes one of the hottest forwards on the trade block, and is someone to keep your eyes on in the coming days as there are multiple teams that are circling the forward.
One of the Flyers media members stated..
»Sounds like a three team race for James van Riemsdyk right now. Flyers talking to multiple teams, but Minnesota-Vegas-Carolina seem to be leaders. Calgary has checked in, but minimal interest so far. Situation remains fluid, but talks are starting to heat up.»

What might make this trade interesting is the fact that JVR was held out of Saturday's game against the Devils because of 'maintenance'. John Tortorella Stated that he was a little «banged up» and would miss at least one game.
March 3rd is the trade deadline so the Flyers still have plenty of time to get a deal done, and going by the sounds of it, they might get a deal done in the next couple days.
JVR isn't the most offensive guy but brings a big body who isn't afraid to crash the net and battle for pucks. He currently has 23 points and sits 9th in scoring on the team. 9 of his points are goals and 14 are assists, while averaging 16:05 of ice time this year.
