The Philadelphia Flyers and Barry Trotz are set to meet this week. He's obviously one of the better candidates for the team, but nothing indicates - for the moment - that he has Philadelphia as a No.1 on his list.
Let's go back to the Flyers. In addition to Trotz, one of the candidates that has been brought a lot recently is Jim Montgomery. He was the head coach of the Stars until 2020, but stepped down because of personal problems. He's now an assistant coach for the St. Louis Blues.
Jamey Baskow, a Flyers beat reporter, wrote again that his feeling was that Montgomery is still Chuck Fletcher's "guy" despite the availability of Trotz.
