Berard puts Team USA Up in the First Period, Hughes with an assist

Team USA goes up 1-0 in the first period on the powerplay by a goal from Brett Berard. This is his first of the tournament.

A "stuff-play" in front of the net had Berard in perfect positioning to get a few whacks at it and eventually netted the goal in the first period. He was assisted by L. Hughes who has had a great tournament so far.

The first period comes to an end 1-0 with USA winning thus far. The goal from Berard on the powerplay is the only goal. USA has been such a powerhouse, but the first period has not been their strongest. Stay tuned for an exciting 2nd period as this where USA has typically put on the scoring clinic.
