After the news that Johnny Gaudreau signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets their was rumors that Matthew Tkachuk wouldn't stay in Calgary either.
Well that's definitely the case as Sportsnet's Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman revealed the Calgary Flames have traded forward Matthew Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers.
In return for Tkachuk the Florida Panthers send forwards Johnathan Huberdeau, Mackenzie Weegar, prospect Cole Scwindt, and a 2025 first round pick.
