Coach Fired, Alex Bump decides to leave Vermont
The Philadelphia Flyers chose a hockey player named Alex Bump in the 5th round of the 2022 NHL Draft. It has been reported that his former head coach, Todd Woodcroft, who is the brother of current Oiler's head coach Jay, was recently fired by the Vermont program, and Steve Wielder is currently serving as interim coach.
Significant freshman news: Alex Bump has asked for his release from Vermont. I'm told he will enter the transfer portal.

Flyers prospect Alex Bump earlier this month on now ex-Vermont coach Todd Woodcroft.
Due to this unfortunate news, Bump has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
He valued his connection with Woodcroft, and it seems that there may be a lack of connection with Wielder.
Bump had previously played in the USHL with the Omaha Lancers and Tri-City Storm, and wore the Alternate Captain patch in Omaha.
He had not chosen a college until recently, as he wanted to find a program that would fit his game best.
Even though Vermont may not be considered a prestigious school, the coaches at Flyers development camp have observed that he has been steadily improving.
However, losing Woodcroft has made it necessary for him to search for a new college that aligns with his playing style and future aspirations.
