There was once a consensus that Matvei Michkov was a top 4 pick in the upcoming NHL entry draft. However, some people now speculate that he may be hurting his own chances, though this remains unconfirmed. If Michkov falls to pick 7, Jones and Briere will still have several talented prospects to choose from.

One such player is Slovakian center, Dalibor Dvorsky, who stands at 6'1" and weighs 200lbs. In the 2021-2022 season, Dvorsky scored 40 points in 33 games in J20 Nationell.
Though he was once considered a top 5 pick, he has since lost favor. Nevertheless, he possesses the qualities of a solid center, excelling at faceoffs, power plays, stickhandling, passing, and shooting.
While Dvorsky's transition play may need improvement, he has the potential to become a great center with time in the minors.

Another player worth considering is Oliver Moore, who tallied 31 goals and 75 points in 61 games in his recent campaign.
Despite his small stature at 5'11" and 176 pounds, Moore is a skilled skater who actively participates on both sides of the ice and boasts a powerful shot. Even if they choose Moore, Jones and Briere will still acquire a great playmaker.
