Could the Flyers trade up in this year's draft?
NHL drafts can be exciting times for fans because this league is known for generating major trades at the draft, either with players who need new contracts and won't re-sign or with teams looking for a particular need that other teams have a lot of and are willing to trade for.
The Flyers this draft will be in the seventh position overall. By all accounts, this draft is one of the deepest drafts in 20 years, the flyer should lock themselves into an excellent prospect who should be NHL-ready.
Although some general managers are willing to make a splash and A name for themselves, it may be possible that newly minted general manager Danny Briere may want to separate himself from the others.
According to the athletic, the San Jose Sharks are not ruling out the possibility of moving their 4th overall pick.

It could present the Flyers with an opportunity to move up in the draft and lock themselves into a player they may want more than what's available at their current draft position.
The San Jose Sharks are also in a position of rebuilding and retooling so both teams could find some common ground to make a deal to improve their chances.
The NHL Entry Draft will be on June 28th and 29th in Nashville.
