The NHL was proud to announce that the highly touted prospect and fourth overall pick in the 2022 NHL entry draft, Shane Wright, just registered his first assist in the show

The assist was added during the intermission and announced when play resumed in the third period. The assist is being questioned on social media and rightfully so!

The puck may have caught a glancing piece of stick tape fibre when it passes by Wright's blade, but Vince Dunn clearly deflected the pass to the side wall, not Wright.
I can't help but feel Wright may have pulled a minor league hockey classic and skated over to the ref to tell them he touched the puck and should get an assist.
