It seems that Brendan Leipsic started the process, but Menell was the first to successfully secure citizenship.
Menell recently signed a 3-year extension with the KHL's Dynamo Moscow and has chosen to ignore calls from the US State Department and other government entities to return to the United States. These are definitely strange times.
