As far as John Tortorella's reputation around the NHL, he is sure known as one hard-headed coach, but wouldn't most teams benefit from Tortorella's coaching style and swagger?
Regardless of the ''questionable'' comments some hold Tortorella to, he is human, and just like anyone we all have our own soft side that comes out once in a while.
For Tortorella, that soft side came out on Wednesday when the Philadelphia Flyers signed 9-year-old Zachary Wertz to a two-day contract. Wertz, from Egg Harbor, N.J., was a recipient of a life-changing liver transplant and attended the Flyers facility with Make a Wish.
Tortorella commented on the day he spent with the team, and explained how impactful it was on the guys, Torts even got a little choked up, and it's great to see!
