Flyer's Biggest Rivals: The Fan Fighting Maple Leaf
Flyers fans have seen their share of rivals within the organization. Whether it be a certain player or even a team. Rivals make hockey better, it's a true statement. Leading into the season, Flyersinsider.com will focus on some big rivals and tonight we start with one of the biggest of them all. The former Toronto Maple Leaf, Tie Domi.
Tie Domi was one of the toughest enforcers around. His rival with Donald Brashear is one of the best tilts you will find. For the size of Domi, he can compete with anyone.
Speaking of anyone, Tie Domi's famous tilt in the penalty box is one for the ages. He was sent on a call and fans started to heckle the Maple Leaf. Tie Domi then squirted his water bottle at the audience and in came a fan to settle the score. Let's just say, it did not end well for the fan. Truth be told, they settled the score and still are in contact today.
Tie Domi will go down as one of the best fighters in history. Ranking up tons of penalty minutes due to fighting. He will always get under the skin of Flyer's players everywhere past and present. His son Max Domi is currently in the NHL.
