The Flyers made two ''solid'' acquisitions, those two being Tony DeAngelo who the Flyers traded for, and signing gritty forward Nic Deslauriers. A concern was brought up about Anthony DeAngelo and is was surrounding his locker-room attitude, as it was a known issue when he played with the New York Rangers and he even got into a fist fight with a unidentified New York Rangers goalie, which media says was Igor Sheshterkin.
Another concern was DeAngelo and Provorov possibly playing on the same pairing, and being together in the organization as a whole. Provorov has recently showed his frustration towards the Flyers in a un-professional way, and media expected the two (DeAngelo/Provorov) to butt heads at times.
Flyers coach Brad Shaw identified a possible problem between the two, and thankfully it is not a locker room issue, it is a on-ice one. The issue is that DeAngelo and Provorov are both puck-possession first defensemen, and want the puck on their tape a lot. The Flyers appear to want to run both on the same defensive pairing as a ''lockdown'' duo to shut-down teams top lines, but it may be a problem.
