The Flyers were on the road tonight and played against the Minnesota Wild. Throughout the sea of Minnesota Wild fans, there were groups of people that were cheering on one of the Flyers forwards. That forward happened to be Noah Cates.

Cates was born and raised in Stillwater Minnesota. The 23-year-old left winger kept much of his young playing career within the state. From 2018 through 2022, he played for the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he wore the C for two seasons.

Throughout this season, Cates has been a steady player under head coach John Tortorella. His disciplined play on his end and defensive awareness have caught Torts' attention in which he has given Cates high marks and great reviews.
Despite Cates's homecoming and goal while the Flyers outshot the Wild 30 to 23, they lost 3-2 in overtime. The Flyers will continue their road trip and play in Winnipeg on Saturday, January 28th. Game time will be at 7:00 PM
