As the Flyers prepared to begin their new season, likely, the overall success of the team will not be there this year. Flyers' management and their coaching staff are currently mired in a full rebuilding phase that was long overdue for this team as they attempt to work their way up to be a playoff contender.

Aside from the potential long season ahead, there are small victories that many need to recognize, and one happens to be Flyers prospect Bobby Brink. After spending time with the Phantoms recovering from a major injury last year, Brink had an amazing camp that caught the eye of head coach John Tortorella.
Continuing to accelerate in his game, Tortorella gave him the good news that he will remain with the Flyers and be allowed to shine and show his talent to the fan base.

This opportunity is a clear recognition of the hard work he has put in over the past few weeks, and with three points in four preseason games, it's evident that he deserves to stay with the team and be given the chance to work with returning center Sean Couturier.
This will be beneficial for his game and confidence as he tries to build off this momentum and remain with the team for the entire season.
Torts is known to give recognition to his players who have shown a great work ethic and the ability to learn his style of hockey, which is defence-first.
Noah Cates last year was one of those players who was constantly praised by Torts for his defensive game, earning him more ice time.
The Flyers are hoping for the same outcome for Brink, which will give them another option in their top 6 to help round out the offence.
The Flyers will be on the road tomorrow to play against the Columbus Blue Jackets, where they will meet their former top defenseman, Ivan Provorov. Game time will be 7:00 PM Eastern.
