Flyers Today : What is going on with Carter Hart?

Despite a strong outing against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Philadelphia Flyers lost 4-2.

Noah Cates scored his first goal in the NHL, as Ronnie Attard registered his first point with an assist on James Van Riemsdyk's goal.

Let's be honest here : goaltending made the difference in this one. Blue Jackets' goaltender had a hell of a game, stopping 47 of the 49 pucks directed at him. On the other side, Carter Hart made 26 saves on 29 shots, which isn't bad.

The problem here is that he allowed a soft goal in the 3rd, which turned out to be the game winning goal.

Hart has shown flashes of what he can become for the Flyers this year : a solid starting goaltender for the decade to come. With that being said, he has still a lot to work on, and his rebound control is maybe his biggest problem.

The thing is that we don't know what he is yet because he is playing behind a dysfunctional team since his debut in the NHL. With that being said, you can't blame your defenseman (don't get me wrong the defense is terrible in front him) after letting in a bad goal, which has been the case a lot lately. He's gotta figure that part of his game out.

He has now allowed 19 goals in his last 4 starts. That's an average of 4.75. It's just not good enough. He has been fighting the puck a lot lately.

1. This must be frustrating for the players but they deserved the win.

2. A great moment for those two guys.

3. Morgan Frost played a pretty good game last night. He was a little less visible in the 3rd period, but the center seems to have gained a lot of confidence lately.

4. The Flyers will be back at practice today at 12PM.
