Celebrating victories is always something a pro athlete looks forward to whether it's football, baseball or hockey. Victories, are always fun and are what people will remember.
The 2023 IIHF hockey world championship has come to an end, in which Canada won the gold medal. Scott Laughton, the Flyers forward who was part of this team was standing along centre ice with all his fellow countrymen singing the national anthem with a gold medal around his neck.
The 28-year-old centerman also had a career year as a Flyer when he played 78 games and scored eighteen goals with 25 assists for 43 points with 50 penalty minutes. Along with taking gold at the World Championships this week, he'll be celebrating his 29th birthday.
He's hoping this recent success will transfer into next year. He has three years remaining on his deal worth $3.0 million AAV.
Laughton will be spending much of the week enjoying this triumph and another go around the sun.
