As the emotions run high and the uncertainty circling Carter heart, Ersson has been pushed into the number one role as starting goaltender for the Flyers.

There have been questions on whether he could be the next starter for the team as he had shown signs of brilliance during some of the games he played last year.
The 24-year-old who was chosen in 2018 in the fifth round, 143rd overall has played 25 games this season. He holds a record of 12-9-3 with 2.60 goals against average and a .989 save percentage with three shutouts.
This announcement has given this season an extra boost considering the Flyers have playing well and are continuing to hold a playoff spot even though they are slated as a rebuilding team.
