After suffering back-to-back losses on the road at the hands of the Seattle Kraken and the Calgary Flames, the Philadelphia Flyers look to get back on track tonight as they travel to Edmonton to take on the Oilers. This will wrap up an exhausting five game road trip for the Flyers which started back on Dec. 22 in Detroit.
Although the Flyers have suffered back-to-back losses, the team is still very much in control as they sit at third in the Metro Division standings with a 19-12-5 record, eerily similar to the 2019-20 Flyers squad that saw a deep playoff run.
Tonight the Flyers will have their work cut out for them as they have the task of stopping one of the NHL's most dynamic players in
Connor McDavid. McDavid leads his team in points by a wide margin at 48 and also leads the team in assists with 35. Alongside McDavid,
Zach Hyman has been on a scoring tear this season as he leads the team in goals with 21 and a plus/minus of ten.
Edmonton is also riding a five game win streak into tonights game so the Flyers are sure to have a tough matchup ahead of them.

In the Flyers 4-3 loss to Calgary on Sunday night, they were able to grab a lead first, something they have found success in all year, but once again couldn't hold up in the third period as Calgary scored a flurry of goals to earn the win.
Samuel Ersson got the start in goal as he still managed to record 29 saves on a .906 save percentage, after having to exit the game in Seattle due to dehydration.
Head Coach John Tortorella is still pleased with where the team is at and has admitted the team is exhausted from the travel and being away from home for the past five games.
"If you told me we would get 3 out of 4 to start this trip, I'd be jumping up and downWe're getting ready for our next one."
A win tonight to wrap up the road trip could be a huge confidence booster for the team as they return home on Thursday against Columbus.
