Flyers to Participate in Outdoor Game
The Philadelphia Flyers are a storied hockey franchise, and this just adds to the list.
It was announced that the Flyers and Devils will face off outdoors in the Stadium Series in Philadelphia. The last time both teams played in an outdoor game, they both lost. The Devils lost to the New York Rangers in the Bronx at Yankee Stadium, 7-3, in 2014.
The Flyers lost to the Boston Bruins 7-3 in Lake Tahoe in 2021. David Pasternak had a hattrick, as well as three goals in 1:39 span in the second period hurt Philly. They're 1-4 in outdoor games, so they hope to turn it around.
Their only win at an outdoor event came from Claude Giroux in 2019 when he scored the overtime winning goal against the rival Pittsburgh Penguins.
This is the first time the Flyers and Devils will meet outdoors so it should be a fun matchup. The game will take place on either February 17th or 18th at MetLife Stadium.
