Former Flyer just received the biggest honor in hockey

Former Flyer defenceman Mark Streit was inducted to the IIHF Hockey Hall of Fame this past Friday after an amazing NHL career.

"This is the best sport I can imagine and I'm thankful for so long I was able to do it."

In the summer of 2013, Streit was traded from the Islanders to the Philadelphia Flyers for Shane Harper and a fourth-round draft pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Streit, 44 played four seasons with the Flyers serving as an alternate captain.

He was also a former Canadien, Islander and Penguin.
In 2017, Streit signed a one year $700,000 contract to return to Montreal but played four games before being placed on waivers and subsequently deciding to retire after 12 NHL seasons. He was drafted by the Habs in round 9 of the 2004 NHL Draft; a true successful story.
Streit won the Stanley Cup with the 2016-17 Penguins.
In 786 NHL games, Mark Streit collected 96 goals, 338 assists for a total of 434 career points. Well deserved Mark.
