Hitch, spent four seasons with the Flyers. During his time in three of his four years, his regular season totals were over 100 points. He took the Flyers to the conference finals in 2003-04 and lost against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Throughout his career, he has coached five NHL teams including two stints with the Dallas Stars.
His overall record as a coach was 1598 games coached, with 849 wins, 534 losses and 88 ties and 127 overtime losses. He captured 1 Stanley Cup with the Stars and 8 division titles.
The 71-year-old coach has led a very successful career and will have his place in the Hockey Hall of Fame, rightfully so.
We congratulate Hitch on his success and his Hall of Fame berth.
