It's been Very sad to see former NHL Star Bobby Ryan's battle with alcoholism. Ryan was force to retire due to his well documented battle with alcoholism.
The 35 year old was arrested Monday night in Nashville at the International Airport for public intoxication after police were called when Ryan left the airport store without paying for his items.
After being released from Police custody. This afternoon former NHL player Brent Sopel offered the following support:
"The NHLs terrible substance program at work again. Absolutely no help in the transition. My heart goes out to Bobby. Call me and I'll help you"

Ryan Isn't the only player who's had substance abuse issues, former Toronto Maple Ian White's story was very heartbreaking when it was aired on CTV News earlier this year.
Last Season Montreal Canadiens' winningest Goaltender in franchise history Carey Price also had to get help for substance abuse, something Carey was dealing with discreetly for quite a while.
Let's hope the NHL can look at other ways to make sure the players get the help they need so we don't see anymore NHL players end up like this.
