We are just a couple days away from the NHL's Free Agent Frenzy. One name that is going to get a lot of attention is pending unrestricted free agent Claude Giroux.
The 34 year old had a crazy season, beginning the year with his former team the Philadelphia Flyers before being traded to the Florida Panthers. Giroux scored 21 goals and 44 assists in 75 games last season.
Giroux is looking like he will be either going back to the Florida Panthers, or possibly closer to home with the Ottawa Senators.
The website Sens Buzz would reveal on Twitter that the Panthers and Giroux have not been able to get the right amount worked out so far. The next best option is the Ottawa Senators.
Must read on FlyersInsider
The Panthers still have some time to make a deal before Wednesday at noon when the rest of the league can make an offer.
#UPDATE Giroux and the Panthers have not been able to make the money line up so far. The next best option for Giroux might be Ottawa. The #GoSensGo are looking to follow their trade for DeBrincat with a big splash in FA. @reporterchris via northstarbets]
