Kieffer Bellows, once connected to the Islanders and Flyers, is now seeking an NHL contract for the 2023-24 season after his recent PTO with the Hurricanes didn't result in a deal. The 25-year-old player, who was once a highly-touted prospect, had a stint with the Islanders that ended abruptly last season. After the Flyers picked him up, his performance remained below expectations, with just three goals in 27 games.

As the season concluded, the Flyers decided not to extend a qualifying offer to Bellows, making him an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career. Despite having NHL experience, he didn't receive any immediate NHL offers.
Now, Bellows is taking a shot in the minor leagues. The Toronto Marlies, affiliated with the NHL's Maple Leafs, are giving him a chance. With 18 forwards already on the Marlies' roster, Bellows faces a challenging situation, but he's eager to make an impact at the minor league level and revive his career.
Bellows' story is one of potential and redemption as he works to carve a path back to the NHL.
