Former Flyers captain Claude Giroux did not disappoint in his first game as a Florida Panther. With 2 assists last night against the Montreal Canadiens, Claude Giroux lived up to his hype and showed up big time in a narrow 4-3 victory.
After playing 1000 games in a Flyers uniform, last night marks the first time Giroux has dawned another team's jersey. Usually a center, Giroux slotted perfectly as the right winger on the first line playing with Carter Verhaeghe and Aleksander Barkov.
In fact, after the Habs scored with a powerplay in the first 29 seconds, it only took 36 seconds into Giroux's Panthers career to get his first point.

In a statement put out by NHL public relations, Giroux's two-point showing puts him as the fifth Panther in the last ten years to post a multi-assist game in their debut.
Number 28 also took home the second star of the contest. Although these images are weird, let's hope he gets that ring. He has 26 assists for 44 points in 58 games played this season.
