The Free agency frenzy saw a lot of players on the move. We witnessed superstar forward and South Jersey native Johnny Gaudreau sign a huge deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets, a move that should have been in favor of the Flyers, but we don't have to get into that. Another big move was the signing of former Flyers captain Claude Giroux to his hometown team the Ottawa Senators. A three-year deal worth $6.5 annually million against the cap. Giroux believes this team has a chance to win the cup, maybe not this season, but building and growing together could bring it one year.

That being said, there is some interest with this move for the Philadelphia fanbase. On Saturday, November 12th, 2022, at 1:00pm EST, Claude Giroux will make his return back to face his former team. A team where he spent over a decade as captain and earned the love from many fans, and maybe even lost the love too. There was speculation that Claude Giroux would try and come back in the offseason but that was not the case, the team had officially moved on from the former captain. With a new identity in pursuit, this was probably the best decision. This will be a game that is circled on the calendars of all Flyers fans, and I'm sure Claude Giroux's. Question is, will you be there?
