At the Honda Center on Friday nightthe Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim faced off in a heated game. This game, although being between two clubs who were moving in opposing ways in the standings, strangely had the feel of a playoff match.
Things were tense for the majority of the game, but as the Ducks fell behind the Kings 6-3 in the third period, their frustrations reached a boiling point, resulting in a brawl in front of Phoenix Copley.
Copley has taken over the crease for the Los Angeles Kings, winning five out of his six last games with Jonathan Quick now backing him up, a young Copley wanted in on some of the action last night as he would be assessed a match penalty for leaving his crease, in hopes to fight the Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson.
The referees sadly didn't let the goalies go at it..
