Over the past five years, Flyers forward Joel Farabee has been underperforming in the eyes of management, ownership and the fan base. Much was made about the 23-year-old who was drafted in the first round, 14th overall in 2018. Many expected him to be a high scoring forward with lots of upside.

That hadn't happened up until this year, where Farabee managed to cross the 40-point milestone for the first time in his career last night against the Lightning.
The pressure began to mount after he finished his rookie season when former general manager Chuck Fletcher decided to award him with a six-year $30 million contract extension. Holding the cap hit of $5,000,000 per season this gave the view of fans and management that Farabee should be well past the 40 points mark every season.

It seems that with head coach John Tortorella, Farabee has been able to adjust and become the player many expected him to be. Through the last five games, Farabee has been on a bit of a heater and has had three goals and 4 assists for 7 points.
This is a welcome sight and hopefully he will continue to build off this season.
