Yesterday, the Arizona Coyotes were playing away at Detroit. The game, that resulted in a 9-2 win for the Coyotes, started in the most unconventional, but beautiful way.

Phil Kessel decided to come to Detroit even though it was the birth of his first child. Why? To keep his iron man streak alive! After having played 956 games in a row, Kessel didn't want anything to stop him from reaching the 1000-game mile, not even the birth of his first child.
After playing just one shift on the ice, Kessel received fist-bumps from his teammates and left the game to go back to Arizona to be with his family during this important moment.
Coyotes' owner, Alex Meruelo, set up a charter flight for Kessel to return quickly to Phoenix. A nice gesture from him. Looks like the rest of the team took care of the game without Kessel, as they scored 9 to celebrate their teammate being a dad. What a night for the Coyotes!
