Since the news broke that John Tortorella and the Flyers have had mutual interest in one another, it's been confirmed now that the veteran head coach and the Flyers have met for a preliminary interview.
Yesterday, the two sides met for one of many interviews the Flyers are conducting since announcing that interim head coach Mike Yeo will not be returning next season in a head coaching capacity.
On ESPN where Tortorealla currently works as a pundit, here's what he had to say.
"Very fortunate to have the opportunity. But I will leave it at that"

It would seem to the general public that the American coach is interested in the job and rightly so. His no bullshit attitude as long with his fiery style are just what the Flyers need right now.
Most recently,
Cam Atkinson praised his former head coach in an end of season interview.
"I think going into next year, we need to find a way to have some more grit, some more jam, more 'F you' to our game."
"I think it all starts with practice. You practice how you play. Especially when I turned pro, I learned that from John Tortorella. He was great in that aspect."
Signing a new head coach however is perhaps even more complicated now than ever. If the Flyers wish to attract big name free agents, does Tortorella necessarily give the team an edge over the likes of coaches like Barry Trotz? How will he impact our young players like
Cam York and
Bobby Brink?
And how much will it even cost to bring in Tortorella or Trotz anyways? Don't forget Alain Vigneault is still on Fletcher's payroll.
We have so many questions but not so many answers. Although, it does seem as though the team would like to make the decision before the draft.
