Flames fans finally got some good news when newly acquired forward Jonathan Huberdeau and the Flames announced they have come to terms on a 8 year $84,000,000 million dollar contract extension.

Huberdeau was part of that blockbuster deal that sent Matthew Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Johnathan Huberdeau, Mackenzie Weegar, prospect Cole Schwindt and a first round pick. Flames fans weren't happy with the trade because they felt Huberdeau and Weegar were UFA in the summer.

It didn't help matters when Huberdeau admitted he wasn't happy being traded either, claiming he and the Panthers were in talks of signing a contract extension. However, that's all in the past now that Flames General Manager Brad Treliving made Huberdeau a offer he couldn't refuse.
