With the Chicago Blackhawks, jumping up in the NHL Draft Lottery and the rest of the Lottery staying pretty much the same.
It got me thinking, how lucky the Blackhawks, have really been over the past decade and a half, especially compared to the Philadelphia Flyers.
To start off, taking a look at the 2007 NHL Draft. The year where the Blackhawks, finished 5th worst and the Flyers, finished dead last in the league. Who do you think won the Lottery and drafted superstar
Patrick Kane?
Over the past decade and a half the Blackhawks, have been nothing short of a dynasty, with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews leading the way. Now that Patrick Kane has moved on, and it looks like Toews will retire, Gary Bettman thought the Chicago Blackhawks needed another dynasty opportunity in
Connor Bedard.

In 2010, the Chicago Blackhawks and Cinderella story Philadelphia Flyers, faced off in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Flyers dream run would be cut into a million pieces in Game 6, after Patrick Kane, scored a fluke goal that nobody knew went in.
There has always been question on whether or not the NHL Lottery is rigged, and Kevin Weekes, didn't help the cause.
It just seems so interesting that everything else in the Lottery stayed the same, expect for the Blackhawks moving up 2 spots and winning the Lottery.
Now, let's compare the success of the Flyers and Blackhawks in the past decade and a half:
Blackhawks: 3 (200910, 201213, 201415)
Flyers: 0 (N/A)
Conference Championships:
Blackhawks: 3 (200910, 201213, 201415)
Flyers: 1 (2009-10)
Blackhawks: 547-401-128
Flyers: 593-418-143
Top 3 Draft Picks (00-20's):
Blackhawks:
1st: 2
2nd: 0
3rd: 3
Flyers:
1st: 0
2nd: 2
3rd: 0
The Flyers, have been without a talent like Connor Bedard, since Eric Lindros. Even then the Flyers had to trade half the team and 20 draft picks in order to acquire him.
The Flyers, also in recent history have had
Claude Giroux, been the face of the franchise. But the Blackhawks were given 2 stars at once, in Toews and Kane, and were given 3 Stanley Cups for it.
Comparing Claude Giroux, and Patrick Kane, success with both their respected teams is pretty rough.

So why do the Chicago Blackhawks, seems to get everything better then the Philadelphia Flyers?
Nobody knows, the Flyers are desperate for a big young talent, who can be the face of the team again. But it looks like fans will be waiting another year.
