Today, Saturday February 12, the Flyers are visiting the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena for a rematch of Wednesday night's loss. This time however, the Flyers will be without nine of their veteran players as Rasmus Ristolainen and Derick Brassard aren't playing today.

Jamey Baskow, writer and journalist for the Flyers and Phantoms wonders if it's time to start pointing the finger at certain players. On twitter he wrote «This is Derick Brassard's third attempt coming back this season playing, and then the following game he can't play because he's hurt».
Brassard just came back after missing two of the Flyers' last 27 games on Wednesday only to reaggravate his hip again. Brassard, Ristolainen, Ellis and Couturier have a total 2,796 total NHL games played. This is a significant loss of leadership and experience.

In the long run, we'd rather see players like Couturier and Ellis take the season off to properly heal than to rush them back into the lineup. Sean for one didn't look 100 % comfortable for a few games and since this season is a wash no need to cut corners on the rehab process.
Baskow finishes his thought by saying «I want to be there for your team, but in the long term it hurts your team far, much more by coming back when you shouldn't».
The Flyers lost for a second time in a row today against the Red Wings by the score of 4-2.
