As you probably know, Joel Farabee underwent disk replacement surgery last week. According to the Flyers, the forward is expected to make a full recovery in 3 to 4 months, so he could be available for the start of the season.

With that being said, GM Chuck Fletcher didn't rule out that Farabee could miss some games at the start of the season. Furthermore, Fletcher explained how Farabee suffered his injury, and, to be honest, he's really unlucky. The issue came out of nowhere 2 weeks ago. Farabee was doing light work on bench press when he felt a pinch in his neck.
"Whether it's 3 months or 4 months ... if he's ready for Game 1, great. If he misses 5, 6, 7 games, and we can push him a little bit further, that might make sense too. We'll make every decision with him based on his long-term health, welfare and development," said Fletcher.
