John Tortorella Calls Out The Flyers Media Reporters For Making Something Out of Nothing With The Recent Kevin Hayes Benching
Head Coach John Tortorella sparred once again with the Philadelphia media over the ongoing story regarding Kevin Hayes and his recent benching.
At issue in Tortorella's eyes, Hayes's defensive play has not been up to par with what Torts would like.
During his post-game presser where the Flyers won 5-3 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Torts felt he had no reason to give the media an update on Hayes's game.

Torts lashed out feeling this rift has been driven by the media and will no longer pass along any updates regarding him. Hayes returned to the ice tonight and logged over 14 minutes in ice time and had three shots on goal but unfortunately, he did not amass any points.
Hayes has played 32 games with nine goals and 20 assists for 29 points. Only time will tell if this cools down or heat up further.
