The Philadelphia Flyers Head Coach John Tortorella recently shared a letter with the Philadelphia Flyers fan base and season ticket holders, asking them to hang on and continue to support the team.

Flyers fans knew when the Flyers traded away captain Claude Giroux last season that changes were coming and hard times would be ahead. This season has been very rough but Tortorella believes this team is heading in the right direction heading into the final quarter of the 2023 season.

The Media asked Tortorella about the letter to fans and his opinion on the team:

"John you talked about trying to build a culture, trying to build a identity. Your response was ask me in a few months ask me later. In that letter you sent out Monday you basically said you guys our on the right track. In regards to that as I ask why do you feel that way?"

"I'll use one word, belief. I think there's belief. Um we'd go through the month of January, how we go through a month of January how we grouped after the 10-game losing streak or more was a 10 and then coming to the month of January when you look at the calendar honestly and I said it to myself too I said where are we going to be and I saw them give and I I saw them help one another conflict along the way with coaches and players and players backing up players when this conflict that all the little things that that you see a team try to come together and believe I think it's starting having said that it's still we still got to keep working at it and I and I don't want I am not going to criticize anybody before me or the teams before this stuff came in but I I just felt in the summertime and we started this I just thought we weren't on the tracks right I think we've got yourself get stuck there too long you might fall off the tracks again and that's where I think we're at but I think it's a positive sign really excited about the opportunity to see how we handle the intensity and the hardness of the last quarter of the year it's going to be I hope it's good thoughts at the end I'm not sure if it is not I can't predict that."

- John Tortorella
There's going to be another 2-3 seasons of disappointment unfortunately, but with some nice dinner draft picks and trades for prospects hopefully in a couple years the Flyers could possibly be a a Stanley Cup contender.
