Konecny had a private one-on-one with Briere

During today's media availability which featured a lot rookies and youngsters, Travis Konecny assumed the leadership position and took accountability.
With this horrid season in the books, Konecny assured fans that they will do better. As well as mentioning an interesting meeting he had with Danny Briere.
"This is a close knit team. Everyone loves each other here. I know I can do better."

He continued to mention that it was an odd year but he truly believes this team is playoff ready.
"I truly believe we have a playoff team. From top to bottom everyone wants to win."
When asked about the possibility of representing team Canada at the World's Konecny turned it down and said that he wants to focus on being a dad this summer.
With around 10 games left in the year, Konency met with Danny Briere and looked at why his performance regarding scoring has decreased.
"Konecny said with about 10 games left in the season, he sat down w/Danny Briere and looked at some analytics with regards to his shooting/goal scoring, what he used to be doing and what he's not doing as much now. Said he's not an analytics guy generally, but he felt it helped."
It's very good to see Briere bring something fresh and new to the team. Konecny tells fans to be patient and expect him to be ready to go next season.
