Legendary Flyers broadcaster bids his final farewell.
Steve Coates, the legendary Flyers broadcaster who's been on the radios and televisions of Flyers Nation homes for over 40 years decided a few weeks ago that it was time for him to begin a new chapter in life.
"Coatsey" as he's well known began his final farewell to Flyers fans at Wells Fargo tonight.
He gave an impassioned speech to all the fans and Flyers management for all the years that he has been working for the organization and for everyone who helped him along the way.

Coatsey's was a man of multiple careers. Firstly he was an NHL player who played for the Detroit Red Wings and was a right-winger. His playing career was from 1973 to 1980.
Though his NHL career was only for five games, he predominantly played most of his hockey career in the minors. After he was done playing hockey he turned to tv broadcasting and was the Flyers' TV commentator for 14 seasons.
One of his famous segments was known as Coatsey's corner.
It was announced by the Flyers that they would rename one of their lounges Coatsey's Corner in honour of him.
